Stunningly beautiful in both style and tone, my 00K (serial #7) is a 12 fret slot head which has the timeless appearance of smaller, simpler vintage guitars from long ago. However, the comparison ends there. The tone of the 00-12 is anything but simple. Exceptionally balanced with complex overtones, and sustain and breath that seem to go on indefinitely. #7 is perfect for moving between the studio and the den. The smaller body size, 12 frets to the body, slotted peg head, and 24.9” scale length all combine to yield one little guitar with a lot to say. My model a stunning set of Koa, a Koa top with a beautifully shaded finish, a pyramid style ebony bridge, squared-style heel shape, and all Brazilian rosewood appointments and trim. When Butch began making guitars, his first 7 were “The Seven” and I’d always wanted a Koa guitar. It was the last one of the collection. Butch left San Luis Obispo several years ago to set up shop in Bend, Oregon.
